your an idiot... what may be deemed "desirable" to you may not be "desirable" to someone else... this site is just laughable and I really feel sorry for the PNMs who come on here and believe this crap.

some of the cutest girls I know where these "non-desirable" letters listed above and some of the most awkward unfriendly ones wear those of the "most desirable"... Your not going to be a leper if you pledge Theta and your not going to be magically popular and desirable if you pledge DDD...

PNM's- simple and easy to remember- the most desirable sorority is the one that ask you back- they like YOU, and they want YOU- every sorority on this campus is great and they are all filled with the exact same types of women despite the stereotypes painted on this stupid and toxic site. And your seriously short-changing yourself if you believe any of this and make your choices based on what a handful of very insecure people think.

idiot thinks ranking means desirable.

xo is top tier, yet is one of the least diserable sororitys

they are ranked by desirable because of their return rate during rush. AKA HOW PNM's RANK THEM.(BASED ON WHAT WHICH HOUSE THEY DESIRE) Hellllllooooooo

top three- highest return rate
middle three- second highest return rate
bottom- lowest return rate

IT DOES MEAN THAT THEY ARE MORE DESIRABLE.

It's not rude to state facts! This is what last year's return rates showed, this year things may change depending on what this year's pnms choose and what each house had as their retaining numbers.

Not sure where you got your 'facts' - but here are the actual facts. Based on the past three years retention rates: Chi-O and DDD have a 99% retention rate. Pi Phi and KD have a 97% retention rate. DG, Phi Mu and AOPi have a 95% retention rate. Kappa and ADPi have a 92% retention rate, and Theta has a 90% retention rate. I am keeping the average in non negative decimal level for easier comprehension.

yeah lol i'm pretty sure she is meaning (desireable) as in talking about the return rates during rush AKA how the pnm's rank the houses (which she is correct)... not about retention rates once you're in the sorority...

If I am judging a sorority I would go by retention rates. That's going to tell me more about the sororities than the mess that's going on during recruitment.

I'm not going to debate you on the merits of each house. I could see myself in any house because I've met wonderful women from all of them.

I just want to point out that your sweeping generalizations are exactly why pnms will be nervous wrecks during recruitment and feel like their futures are being determined over the course of a danged week. Absolute nonsense. You are fanning the flames of their anxiety and fears AND TEARS on bid day. To what end?

The real sad thing is not getting a bid to your favorite house but declining the bid because you've listen to simple-minded gossip. The people spreading this simplistic and reductive view of different houses does not actually care about pnms. They don't care that if you outright reject all the houses on rebel drive or vice versa that you may miss out on the joy of being asked to join a sorority and meeting people, leadership opportunities, fun parties, and fundraising for very important causes. My sincere hope for all PNMs is that you will not let these gossiping fear mongers win and steal your joy! This week is yours for the taking. Do not let anyone else (whether online gossips or girls on your hall or someone's mom from Jackson) take this experience from you. No one else should define your happiness! HYDR - go get 'em!

This is the best thing I've read here.

PNMs, there are no "bad" or "lesser" houses. There are only insecure people who can only feel good about themselves by bashing others. Every house here has great girls, truly. Ignore what the OP wrote and go find YOUR home!

^^^^^What she said! I don't know if I've ever read a more truthful post on this site. EVER. Give the process a chance, be open to more than just your pre-conceived favorite and have a wonderful week, PNM's!

Imagine being so stuck in MS that you literally base your sorority choice off of how "desirable" it is at ONE MS school. TRAGIC

Tiers matter. Some groups are just better than others. Cream always rises to the top. Not everybody gets a trophy for participating.

Could you mix a few more metaphors?

Fortunately, this isn't little league or a dairy operation. This is sorority recruitment, and the system at ole miss is designed so that there actually is a place for every PNM.

All of you talking about return rates realize that pnms get very little choice in where they go back to right? You rank your bottom three. PNM's DO NOT cut sororities. The houses cut you and your choices only matter if you get asked back to EVERY HOUSE which considering your attitudes seems unlikely. The houses choose who comes back. Not you.
