who accepts oos members?
by: CuriousHi! I'm from Texas, and I'm curious to know which sororities are more likely to accept out of state girls? It would be great to see a list of them, and maybe a list of the ones that are a "maybe." I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I did a quick look, and I couldn't find it.

All sororities take oos. Some houses have more than others. Lots of posts on here like to say that Chi O, for example only take Jackson and Memphis girls. While they do take a good many it is not only Jackson and Memphis. With pledge classes of 160 or more you have girls from all over in each and every house.

All houses have OOS, the main difference is that to get into a top tier house you almost always have to have super connections, especially with Variable Quota.
The lower tier houses have the most OOS members. That's usually because those girls have no connections - but they have lots of great girls so don't write them off as some PNMs do. Mid-tier have OOS girls as well, usually Southern girls I think Kappa and Pi Phi have a lot of Texas girls.
Good luck - you'll find your home if you are open!

All of the sororities have OOS students. Any OOS student getting into KD, DDD and Chi-O will have to have very strong Ole Miss connections. DG likes Ole Miss connections but they also go after cheerleaders and whoever they think KD, DDD and Chi-O are going after. Kappa and Phi Mu are a mix of Mississippi and OOS students and both have Texas connections. Pi Phi and AOPi are both strong OOS/OOR sororitys, and they seem to embrace their diverse memberships. Alpha Phi has come in strong as a OOS/OOR sorority and they seem to attract girls from the Northern states. ADPi is also a good OOS/OOR. Theta has always been considered a diverse OOS/OOR sorority and they also seem to enjoy a close sisterhood.

I agree with your overall point, but it is true that at this point the pledge class lists have been nearly finalized at Chi O. I don't mean this as a knock against Chi O. It is a great sorority as are all of the houses at Ole Miss. Chi O takes more like 105 pnms. I say this just to encourage those going through rush to keep your mind and options open, whether that is for Chi O or Theta or any others!
