alumnae lists
by: truthTop 3 already have their lists completed by their alumnae. Actives don't have an input. Even heard that a famous alumnae mom and her daughter choose the girls on the list for their sorority. Predestined before your even stepped foot on campus.

Wait...Alumni actually come into houses and make their pledge lists? How is that even allowed, since they aren't the ones stuck with the girls for the next few years? No one in my family has ever been Greek, so this must be one of those strange Greek traditions that I just can't understand yet, I guess.
I hope I find a sorority that I love forever, but I can't imagine being so wrapped up in it that I'd be coming back after I graduate, demanding a say in Recruitment. Weird!

actives don't pick list, they have a say-so. no one knows how much the say-so is, it varies. advisors pick the list.
and the top sororitys 90% of the list was picked 18 years ago.
alumni status pretty much grantees you in. what high school you went to (i.e. a private school that has a lot of actives) gives you a really got chance of getting in.
outside of those two, it's hard

Dear truth,
Please speak it. The truth. This is absolutely incorrect information. Predestined? None of this is predestined. One alumni and her daughter are not going to be given the most important job of making a "list" of the pledge class. Actives are 99.99% of decision making process and it is a process, not a list that was compiled a month ago. Alums are their for guidance only.

I'm an out of state girl who knew literally no one on campus and no one knew me. I'm in one of the "traditional top two" sororities on campus, so the idea that alumnae already have bid list is completely false. There was not an alumnae who knew I existed prior to recruitment unless they read my recs from alumnae of other universities.
