is chi o overrated?

I don't necessarily think they are overrated because they are a great sorority. But I do think they are still considered a top tier strictly based on history. Chi-O does seem to keep to themselves, but that doesn't seem to hurt them. They seem to be classy and from the outside they do appear to be more conservative and there is nothing wrong with that. You'll hear the 'old' money mantra about Chi-O and DDD, but money is money whether it's old or new, and pretty much all of the sororitys are made up of people who aren't hurting for money.

Not at all.

A girl from our HS pledge chi o 3 years ago. He mother is single. She had my friend at 18. Somehow at our public school, this girl became thought of as conservative, posting bible verses every night on her Instagram. In reality, she drank, dated much older guys, and teased boys with her ditziness. She stopped being friends with the girls not going to ole miss or girls she got wind of as being wild. So, this girl who had no family money, no Greek connection, did not attend a Jackson area private school, but portrayed a huge Christian persona somehow won over the old money crowd in Chi Omega. It worked and she is wildly popular at ole miss. I'm not sure what will happen after college.

They're not overrated if you're from Jackson and feel like continuing your high school career instead of branching out and meeting new people.

Mississippi is the poorest and most irrelevant state in the whole US next to like West Virginia, yet people can't drop the fascination with old money. Jackson is still podunk as hell in my book. Not to mention, it contains the ONE Whole Foods in the entire state. That's laughable. I could go on, but I'm being nice today. Podunkers gonna dunk

Tri-Delt and KD just advertise what they are doing on social media a lot more that Chi-O's do, so PNM's often think that these two groups are somehow better. I am NOT a Chi-O- but I like them. Chi-O's are just a bit more chill- some say conservative or classy- some say granola/hippie, I'd say they're a combo of all this... My guess is they already KNOW they are a good group, so they don't feel the need to have to prove it on this site or anywhere for that matter. But just because they are a little more low-key on campus or on social media doesn't mean that they arent an awesome group.

Chi O's don't feel the need to try to impress anybody. They are very comfortable in their own skin.
