legacy but not ole miss legacy
by: yyI'm a legacy for a "top tier" house for my sister but she didn't go to ole miss. what are they chances of still getting bid?

It's not impossible, but I would not go in with my heart set on that one sorority. The top three have been already been informally recruiting and honestly probably have already made the decision on about 95% of their quota with Mississippi/Memphis/strongly connected Ole Miss legacies. Of course none of the sororitys know yet what their exact quota will be so there may be a handful of spots open after recruitment starts. I would say not to count on it, but at the same time nothing is impossible.

Short answer is no. Legacies, even OM legacies, don't mean what they used to. Variable quota means even OM legacies to top tier houses are being cut. What's more important are connections. Everything the poster wrote above about the top tier houses is how it works. If you have tight in-house connections, you might have a chance but even that's not a sure thing. Do you know any girls in your legacy house?
There are wonderful houses at OM - really keep an open mind and you will find a home.

Meant to say that your odds are reduced...not "no" since girls do get into top tier who are legacies from elsewhere and/or have few to no connections.
