by: From Bama pageMoms on this board- I understand that you are looking for information and are probably nervous for your daughter if she is going through recruitment. Please know (if you are new) that most of what you see here is not accurate or valid. You'll occasionally get some good tips, but that's it.

Moms, also please realize that when your daughter gets cut, it's not personal, at least not in the first few rounds. Rush is so competitive that houses have to cut fast if they're top tier....grades, lack of connections, etc. are the reasons why your daughter - unless she's a Miss/Memphis girl or with super connections/pull - will get cut from Tri Delt, Chi O and KD after first round. Variable quota means these houses have to cut more girls than in the past.
There are exceptions, of course, but I know OOS (especially out of region) girls who are shocked and really upset at being cut from those houses after the first round.
And please don't complain on here about how your daughter was unfairly treated, etc. It's a numbers game and variable quota means even Miss. girls are being cut from top tier houses where they are legacies and have tight connections.
Encourage your daughter to give every house a chance, even the "lower tiers" (which have many fantastic girls...there truly are no "bad" sororities here). If they get a bid, TAKE IT and give that sorority a chance. \n\n\n\n\n
