stereotypes
by: PNMSo I'm in the process of rushing/getting to know some of the sororities for the fall, and I just wanted to get popular opinions on the stereotypes of most of the sororities. I'd like to get an idea of what to expect from each, not just what they want me to see when I'm rushing them.

Stereotypes won't help you because it can make you prejudiced against various houses if they won't fit your "ideal" -- and that will show up in your attitude during recruitment. Wait and get to know them in person. I know girls who wound up loving (and joining) a house whose stereotype didn't fit what they thought they wanted.

I wouldn't play into sorority stereotypes. Even if you tell yourself that it won't make a big difference to you, it will definelty influence your opinions on sororities which may make you miss out on where you should truly be. The houses I thought I would love as a PNM ended up being the places I liked the least during rush. I ended up somewhere I thought I didn't like pre-recruitment and I absolutely love it. You'll have the best rush if you go in with an open mind and no biases. Most of the things you read on GR aren't accurate anyways.

that was supposed to be "don't" not "won't".
