Current rankings
Top Tier: DDD/KD/XO - THERE IS NO ORDER WITHIN THIS TIER. That is why we group sororities into tiers! Each house offers something special, and each house had remarkable recruitments.
Bottom Top: DG. DG stands alone here. I was surprised by the number of girls who went into recruitment wanting DG. They were not your typical PNM's where they went in wanting top tier and settled for DG. DG got the girls they wanted! Everybody happy.
Top Middle: Phi MU & Kappa. One is not better than the other, but different. They cut a lot of girls early that had ties to the top houses. Some are saying this was a mistake, because when the top houses had to cut massively, many of their favorites ended up in bottom houses because the middle cut them early. Still, new members were happy on bid day.
Bottom Middle: Pi Phi, Aopi. Again, one is not better than the other, just different. They picked up all the middle tier girls that normally would have gone Phi Mu or Kappa, but were cut because of smaller pledge classes. These two houses cut the girls they didn't want early, and ended up with great new members.
Bottom: ADPI, Phi PHi, Theta. As much as I can't stand Alpha Phi, I think they ended up with the best new pledge classes out of all the bottom tiers. It seems like the PNM's were looking for something new that they could put their stamp on. ADPi didn't do too bad, I think girls preferred them over Alpha Phi because of their house.
#4 by: Not sure about tier talk
These posts amuse me because of what seems to be an obsession with tiers. I'm an alum and there used to be a time when they didn't really matter.
There was a sense that great girls were in every house and while certain houses had better retention rates and more campus participation, we also knew that it really didn't matter, that your identity wasn't tied up in being in a certain house (yes, for some girls it was, but not en masse). You found a house you loved, you had great sisters and you enjoyed the Greek system. And people were supportive of each other and other chapters.
And you found girls from every single house - large and small - in every facet of campus life.
Would be nice to see people taking that supportive stance and stopping all the "tier talk." I doubt it helps recruitment, but actually hurts it since it gets girls fixated on certain houses and then when they're cut, they're very upset and have a hard time considering other chapters. It also keeps other sororities from wanting to come here since they see a competitive system that can be toxic. No wonder new chapters have a hard time.
Just my two cents from a different era.

Of course tiers matter. However, for OOS students, they are mattering less and less. That doesn't mean they don't want top tier, its just that where they land doesn't hurt as much for OOS girls.
Top houses are now made up of roughly 50% OOS, bottom tiers have a lot more.
My mom attended Ole Miss back in the 1980's. Tiers mattered then and tiers matter now.

Omg this is stupid.
Every girl is going to say and think her house is best. You will never hear a theta say "I love my sisters but we are bottom tier." You will never hear a DG say "my sorority is great but not as great as great as ddd, kd or xo, I know my place." And you will never hear an aphi say "I'm an aphi, we have a lot of rejects and reputation risks in our chapter, but I love it anyway." Get the eff over yourselves and give it a rest already.

Ranks only matter to PNMs. Once you're in, no one really cares tbh. You learn to love your home, even if it wasn't what you originally wanted. remember that some girls don't even get bids. If there's something you don't like, try to change it or make suggestions to improve it. When cut from the top you can A) Get over it and improve your own sorority or B) Drop (and never be in a sorority again). If you re-rush, no one will want to bid you. You're a liability now.

Wtf, you are obviously not studying and on here wasting your time trolling the discussion board, too. If this is beneath you then "Go Study for your classes"
