Chi Omega, overall good sorority with great girls I consider my friends, however the rush they put on is horrible. I feel like they miss out on plenty of great girls because they make such deep cuts the first day. I think they should give more girls a shot and maybe that would make for a friendlier PC. I feel like seeing a Chi O is very rare and if you are a Chi O, you’re social, but not super friendly too many people.

Making deep pnm cuts has to do with required NPC Formal Sorority Recruitment Rules. In prior decades of formal NPC recruitment any sorority could invite any number of pnms to their parties, even women they had no room for in their chapter. This led to sad and mad feelings when a large number of pnms were not invited to pref night at the popular homes they desired. Since 2005 or so pnms numbers are required to be cut more heavily by the popular houses that every pnm desires. This means no pnm is invited to recruitment party after recruitment party by a sorority that has no room for them. It also expands the number of NPC sorority chapters filling their new member lists with quality women who are great assets to the sorority system.

Panhellenic sets the cut number based on historical return rates, the sorority doesn’t decide that. Too many girls want to be Chi Os so Panhellenic makes their first round cut deeper.

Mostly legacies. Kind of a random group. Some of the Jackson Prep girls and legacies are really the only PNMs who desire a bid from them.
