fall new member classes

I saw online where DPhiE and ASA took fall pledge classes. Why did they take fall classes? It's not like they have beds to fill or a mortgage to pay. IU doesn't have chapter total rules, so their national wouldn't make them take girls. I guess I would understand if they needed the money. One of them took over 20 girls, that seems like a lot.

The more girls they have the easier it will be to convince their nationals and IU to let them build a house.

Agreed, it's a smart investment money wise. They wouldn't do so if not.

Taking over 20 girls for the Fall? Sounds more like a line them up and sign them up type of recruitment. Usually some lower tier fraternities do that.
