gpa cuts
by: jkcjnkfsdo they do gpa cuts right after 22 party or do they do them all throughout rush? cause id hate to end up loving a house and going through rounds and being cut at the end for gpa

^ person above, you are misinformed. Panhellenic can't impose such a high GPA. But they asked if there could be an agreement within all the chapters to cut anyone with anything lower than a 3.0; All chapters agreed, which was easy to since most cut girls with low GPA.

@4444 I go to the meetings. This never happened. Each sorority has a different selection process, as "girl" said, so you don't know. If a sorority absolutely LOVES a girl with a 2.9 who is gorgeous funny and has outside involvement do you REALLY think they would chose a girl they don't like as much just because she has a 3.0? Let's be real, you're the misinformed one here. Don't scare the PNMs right before rush.

Pan Hel raises the GPA almost every year so if what they really want is a 3.0 why not raise it that high? In 2009 is was around a 2.5 to rush and most chapters had a 2.6-2.9 min for freshman, and strangly their average GPA's haven't changed much which means that a girl with a 2.9 probably still has the same chance she did before.

The gpa requirement has been the same for many years. It has not been raised by Pen Hel for many years.

It was 2.5 in 2009 and it was 2.7 before it got raised to 2.8. Adpi actually used to have a house GPA below 3.0.( I thought it was really weird)

It's funny how you think we're all the same person.( we aren't idk who the other girl is) Saying "all sororities will cut girls below 3.0" is not the same as saying "most chapters will cut you". Btw a 2.8 is around a B- regardless of how any individual sees it. Otherwise a 3.9 would be a B+ not an A-. Being a biotch on greek rank doesn't make you any cooler if anything it's sad you feel the need to argue and call a PNM stupid if you're high and happy in your house.

Funny you think every sorority member telling you the same thing is the same person. I love my sorority and that's why we keep grade risks out. We have a reputation to maintain. Enjoy your two days of recruitment!

HI pnms!! Theres a lot of rude people on this thread, but you should ignore them and go into recruitment with an open mind, regardless of your gpa! Will you be cut by more houses for having a 2.8 than a 3.0? Absolutely. But you definitely won't be cut by all of them. When you start recruitment, you will receive a booklet that shows all the minimum gpas for each chapter based on year (sophomore gpa reqs are higher for some chapters). this book should be helpful for you!

Don't think that's accurate lol sororities don't sit around and gossip about how their selection process works. You are misinformed. If that were true the minimum GPA to rush would be 3.0 and not 2.8 like it currently is.
