The Great Greek Life Purge

by: BigGeed

IU is on the hunt to strangle greek life. Here's the grand list of all of the fraternities that are on disciplinary status and when they get off. Next semester is going to be very strange with so many frats not in operation. Everything here is subject to change, some of these frats may get suspended and even more organizations may be added to the list.

Sigma Chi - Probo until May 2022
Sammy - Interim Directive & Probo until December 2021
Phi delt - C&D
Aepi - Probo until January 2022
Acacia - C&D
Sae - Probo until October 2021
Sig Pi - SUSPENDED for 3 Years
DU - Probo until December 2021
Skulls - C&D & Probo Until April 2022
PiLam - C&D

I personally don’t think this list matters. Just like this year all these frats are still gonna party and do what they want.

sororities would rather party at a frat castle than an off campus house or apartment especially after fraternities can start hosting at their house again

The witch hunt must be stopped. Greek life is a great part of our school and our university should pride themselves in the organizations that are a part of it. It is statistically shown students involved in Greek life earn higher GPA's, are involved in more philanthropy and community organizations and thus give back more and serve more service hours than students not involved in the Greek community. Why IU has gone this far- with this many organizations on campus- is beyond many students and staff. Many gentlemen of this fraternity are known well on campus both academically and professionally. The sanctions placed on them may have been deserved, but the abolishment of their organization for years is overly harsh, unecesary, and unfair.

fraternity men are quality men. It's terrible what the school is doing to organizations that have existed for over 100 years.

We need to work together to stop this from happening

that won't happen. fraternities are way too divided here, it's exactly what the university wants. if we banded together the school couldn't stop us from doing what we want

since inspire lost there’s no way the ifc can pass anything to give greeklife more independence from the school. If student government was pro Greek and fraternities weren’t so divided, all these fraternities would be in the clear
