legit question here

by: GeedCity

any upper mid frats here... would you guys be open to a brown kid? I gel well with anyone and if you're willing to look past color I would be a decent fit. Idm all white frats, honestly I don't care but then if the frat cares then I might as well not put myself in that spot so I thought I ask here

Every house is more than accepting of people of every color. Its just that a lot of them don’t get many minorities coming through rush because of the perception of a “white fraternity”

i’d encourage you and anyone else of color to rush especially. frats need/want more colored kids coming through rush. not enough do.

I’d say try it. If you don’t feel comfortable or if boys are really that ignorant. You can always rush the divine 9. There are really great guys in those houses to

I think half of these responses are from geeds or people with white guilt. Im in an top-upper house and I would say our pc’s are pretty representative of the IU student body as a whole. Houses are just looking for dope kids... anyone who tells you otherwise is a bsing.

Coming from a top/ upper mid house, rush forsure. Being black if anything gives you an advantage especially if ur chill. Id actually argue it's easier for the average black person compared to white to get a bid, since not many minorities rush

Rush and give it a try. Lot of false information on how top and mid frats view minorities. Phi Delts VP is brown, beta has a brown kid on exec, Fiji’s president is brown, and a bunch of other chapters have diversity too. Rush and see their members instead of using Greekrank as your source of what chapters beliefs or views are.
