Our daughter was told that cease and desist meant no meetings, events and NO PLEDGE CLASS...

They can take a pledge class, but if they get kicked after C&D it will be another Tri Delt. Pledges will be released. I'd be really leery as a PNM accepting a bid there.

Ok. That is what happens when you take the same girls tri delt would have taken. This house has taken a turn for the worse, other houses take note, this is what happens when you completely change the vibe of your house and put faceyness above all else.

Cease and desist could take a week to get off of. A month. Or longer. AEPi was just on cease and desist and they’re fine. Does not mean Chi O is getting kicked off campus. Does not mean they’re not having a little 5. Like someone said above, everything is up in the air for now. Don’t jump to conclusions, just good vibes for everyone in Greek Life.

This doesn’t mean they’re getting kicked off. This is temporary it literally will not effect the sorority in any way

They can't even have a pledge class for 2019! How can the vote for PNM.
Are girls who have them on list required to continue with them?

They CAN take a pledge class but have no celebration or party. If the situation is found not to be serious, they can then continue pledgeship. If their nationals step in, then the pledge class will end up like Tri Delta did: they will be released to pledge elsewhere ( if anybody is still wanting to add pledges after a few weeks).

It’s NOT a great situation. PNM’s would do well to rethink their final prefs and go elsewhere. Pledge a house where you KNOW you can become an initiated sister, participate in events, etc. A “popular house” means nothing if you’re on probation or in danger of losing your charter. THINK ABOUT IT.....
