by: skokay so when i was going through recruitment the women at sigma kappa told me they were making plans to build a new house when phi psi takes theirs back and i totally believed them. but now i’m hearing that iu isn’t selling any more land and none of the girls can give me a straight answer. are we losing our house or not?

I'm not in SK but when I was there during rush I asked about the house bc I thought they were losing it and they said that they weren't. So they were lying to pnms so I wouldn't be surprised if they were lying to their new pc too. I also know a couple of girls in sk who preffed them over asa just bc they have a house

I believe in this case "making plans" does not equate with "going to have a house really soon".
Sororities make many types of plans of differing time lengths, and at this time apparently IU has no interest in bringing buildable land into SKs future.
Therefore I believe SK is making long-term plans for building a home, using that time wisely to gather funds, draw tentative building plans, look into meal plans/bed numbers/employee need, etc.
Sorority life at IU no longer requires a group have a home to enjoin a dedicated group of women being their best and doing their best for themselves, their campus and the IU community.

What school have you been attending that you think having a house isn't necessary? Having a house changes the game for any sorority who gets one, as SK has proven by getting one of the best bottom tier PCs this year. Too bad all their hard work is going to be thrown away when they don't have a house next semester
