why do you say "very very very far" when they are on probation? On probation, doesn't it take just one screw up and they are shut down? Just like tridelt.....?

close, girls are saying they think they're close, but that could just be fear. none of this matters until something happens though don't spread rumors about them being off. For now they're still on campus and that's what is the most important fact

I would say Pi Kraps are close to being kicked off soon and possibly Phi Delts.

I would say Pi Kapps will be next on the hit list. Phi Delts are questionable and LXA might just screw up next school year.

the case for pi kapps is still being reviewed by ethics board so who know when we could hear something. Pi phi should be fine and phi delt is in no trouble

Pi Phi's on precariously thin ice as we speak...just one more screwup & they're done

by: what?Apr 27, 2017 4:39:13 PM

Then why do people comment saying they are very very far from being kicked off? What is the truth??

What?

The truth is that Pi Phi is on probation; one more mistake & it's game over (just like Tri Delta). Whoever said Pi Phi's "very very very far" from getting kicked off is totally clueless on just how close these ladies are to getting shut down.

You are so wrong. Tridelt was on an extreme probation for multiple years. Many houses get put on probo from there nationals and it's never a huge deal unless you handle it like tridelt did

please tell me what the difference is between being on probation to being on extreme probation? i didn't know sorority probation could rank like that

Actually,

Tri Delta deliberately chose to violate their probation, which in turn forced Nationals' hand. You'd like to believe that the chapter's Exec Board would make a genuine effort to fix the ongoing issues at that house but they never bothered about it. This should be a precautionary tale for Pi Phi: what happened with Tri Delta could happen to them.

Heard that Phi Mu has been in getting in trouble recently and are also on thin ice. Nationals said another screw up and they're on probabtion. Not close to getting kicked off though just probo.

Probation literally means nothing on this campus. A majority of the houses are on at least some kind of probation during the year. Most of the time people get kicked it's from their nationals, not the university.

Any violations during probation can lead to a membership review (death sentence to a chapter)and/ or suspension by the University and Nationals. So I would not say it means nothing.

Probation literally means nothing, huh? I don't care which letters you wear but if you/anyone in your chapter gets caught violating the terms/conditions of your probation, you'll face either a membership review (which is almost usually a death sentence for your organization) &/ suspension/closure of your chapter by HQ/EO/Nationals. So it does mean something. Just ask Tri Delta & even Pi Phi (who is one screwup away from exiting IU).

Four sorority colonies occurred in five years here; there was no guarantee of housing. There was and is backlash against these four by people on greekrank. These sororities sometimes did, and some continue to, suffer lack of pnm interest during all methods of recruitment structure.

The important take-away is the four new IU sororities are persevering despite the backlash/odds. Women seek value and dignity within their chosen home, and all our sororities bring that and more to the table for IU students.

Please continue to give our newest sororities the respect they give to their membership and to the communities they serve. Each will continue to grow, and IU has a defined need for them acknowledged by the large number of women pnms each January.
