How are sorority/fraternity houses ranked?

Hi! I'm not in Greek Life (considering it for next year though) and I've been reading some of these posts. I'm confused, by what standard are houses ranked? Is it niceness/sociability/looks? You can be honest I'm just curious about it all and slightly confused. Thanks in advance! :)
