A Message To All of Greeklife

Hello Greekrank UCF,
I’m Lester Tellez, and I’m running to be President for all of UCF, including Greek Life. I recognize the vital contributions that fraternities and sororities make to our campus through leadership, service, and tradition. Greek Life is a cornerstone of student engagement at UCF, and I am committed to ensuring your organizations receive the respect and support they deserve.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve heard many chaotic stories regarding raids, suspensions, and excessive administrative actions taken against Greek organizations. I understand the frustration and uncertainty this has caused, and I want you to know that I will fight for all Greek Life RSOs to ensure fair treatment, transparency, and due process.
As your Student Body President, I will work with ANY Greek Life RSOs that seek assistance in dealing with the administration, advocating for your needs, and amplifying the positive impact of Greek organizations. My key priorities include:
✅ Full Restoration of Greek Life Abilities in Chapter Once Exonerated or Freed of Suspensions, Including the Lifting of Party Bans – If a chapter has been cleared or has fulfilled its sanctions, there should be no unnecessary delays or restrictions in resuming full operations. This includes advocating for the removal of unfair social event bans that persist even after organizations have been exonerated or served their time.
✅ Advocating for More On-Campus Housing for Greek Life – Expanding housing options for Greek organizations to strengthen community engagement and provide more opportunities for members to live and collaborate together.
✅ Promoting the Philanthropy Work That Greek Life Does for Various Charities – Greek organizations contribute millions to charitable causes every year, and their efforts should be recognized and celebrated. I will work to ensure that your philanthropic achievements receive the university-wide attention they deserve.
Greek Life is about more than just social events—it’s about service, leadership, and lifelong connections. As Student Body President, I will stand with you in making sure your contributions to UCF and beyond are valued and protected.

The situation has been taken out of context. They broke constitutional statues such as changing dues without the permission of the active members and cancelled an election that the club voted on 16-0 for January 27th. Our Constitution allows for the student body to pick the date of our elections at the first meeting of the Spring Semester. We picked an earlier date instead of April and they cancelled it on us. They tried forcing new amendments to change the already set rules and they all failed, hence why their club isn't active because the higher ups won't unsuspend them unless their rules are changed. I hope that clears things up.

I also heard about that Cris Pinochet dude on Reddit who is not affiliated with UCF. Given his apparent involvement and influence on destroying the College Republicans club, how do we know that if you won, that he won't be in charge of UCF SG's budget worth tens of millions and will be pulling the strings?
We demand transparency on this, we are very concerned. Failure to respond with a good answer will make or break many brothers' in my chapter's votes for you. We agree with you politically, and we would hate to break from you.

Christobal Pinochet is my mentor and friend. However, he will not be making any decisions within the administration. I will be making them. Chris is well off on his own and it would be illegal for him to have control over the Student Government Budget. Thank you and let me know if you have any other questions.

Can you explain how Christobal was able to get involved in an RSO, and allegedly destroy it the way he did? I'm not saying the person who posted about him on Reddit is correct, I just want to hear your side. We are rooting for you.

Club meetings are public to everyone. Me and Christobal would table for the Republicans during the 2024 Election to help Mary and I provided 1k for hats for the club to buy to give out during the election. Christobal got 100s of people to follows the page. The reason why the club is "destroyed" is because everyone is upset with the leadership cancelling our election and we've decided to move on to TPUSA. They wanted us to pass new amendments and voted on them and they all failed, which is why they cannot hold club meetings. They have not tried compromising with us after the vote on these amendments and we have mostly all left. Christobal has no responsibility in the club losing its membership. Thank you!

Okay. According to a Reddit post (which is now deleted/taken down) screenshot about Pinochet, OP claims that he owns multiple businesses. If it is true that he has multiple businesses, why would he want to get involved in a college club? I get some involvement, but the post describes his involvement as "way more than the average club member" verbatim. How does he have time for that? How do we know his involvement wasn't for ulterior motives?
That's our main concern about you winning. We saw a shadow government these last 4 years under Biden and Kamala, and we just don't want the same at UCF should you win.

Look, I get that you’re talking up Greek life, but I don’t see why we should believe you’ll actually follow through—feels like you’re just saying what you think we wanna hear to lock in the Greek vote.
Also, I saw the College Republicans President is backing Blanco/Benitez. Honestly, as someone who shares your conservative views, that’s not gonna cut it for me or a lot of others, Lester.

And why the club is suspended? We agree politically Lester, I just want transparency. I want elaboration as to why you got the club suspended and divided the club -- failure to do so will make or break at least 10 brothers' in my chapter votes for you
