“sigma chi & zbt were once unpaired” they’re frats. they’re the ones who do the asking, so them being unpaired ≠ a sorority being unpaired. 9/10 are unpaired bc they were competing w another frat and lost or were suspended.
being unpaired as a sorority though is the most embarrassing thing that can happen to a chapter because that just means no one asked you.
frats are unpaired because the person they asked rejected them, sororities are unpaired because no one wanted to ask them in the first place.

(Speaking as a member of a sorority that is paired for homecoming) It really is not that deep. Obviously most people would prefer a pair because of the fun activities that take place during hoco week but saying that not having a pair is "the most embarrassing thing that can happen to a sorority" is a bit of a stretch. And considering the options are limited with frats being suspended and unaffiliated, it isn't unexpected for sororities not to get paired. If something like this is that big of a deal to you, consider taking a step back and reevaluating your priorities :)
