Sorority Spring Recruitment~COB Advice~Spring 2023
Spring recruitment is informal and you can look at the chapters you are interested in. COB stands for Continuous Open Bidding.
Chapters will not know who is participating in COB until after the fall semester. Chapters participating will post COB info on Instagram. Please do not ask about dates until January we won’t know.
Follow the chapters you are interested in on Instagram. It will let them know you’re interested. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t hear back from your dream chapter. The more competitive chapters might only have a few bids give out and most times go to friends of active sisters. The more chapters you visit, the more chances you have of finding your people.
Keep your social media classy. Don’t gossip about any chapter on or off social media. It’s a bad look and we always find out. We are looking for girls who will represent our chapters positively.
All tiers participate in COB, upper tiers are included. If they are able to take more girls they will participate.
Greek life changed, it’s not just all about looks. We recruit for personality, reputation, values, diversity, intelligence, confidence. Yes we all want attractive girls but other factors are just as important.
Be yourself, not who you think they want. That usually doesn’t turn out well.
Go with your heart. Get to know the girls & find your home. Don’t do what your friends do or believe everything on this site.

Our rankings include involvement, philanthropy, reputation, campus activity, membership retention and more. Not just looks and popularity.
If our ranks were based solely on looks and popularity, they’d be vastly different. That’s why surface level people keep trying to change the ranks. No big schools rank on looks alone anymore.
We value people as a whole, the inside, outside, values, personality and your contributions. That’s why a chapter that may be more attractive or more popular may be ranked lower than other chapters.
Don’t take these ranks too seriously. Find your fit.

no, they want to know who is interested. be realistic about who you contact, not everyone is top tier.

pnms only following one chapter: if you don’t get a bid from the one chapter you follow (which happens a lot) and other chapters think you were unwilling to give them a chance, you will be left with very few options. follow all the chapters you would consider, you don’t want to look stuck up.
