Just wondering
by: CuriousLadies, if tiers didn’t matter, would you have picked the sorority you’re in now? Like looking back did you put a specific sorority first on pref night solely because it was ranked higher? Even if you’re happy in your house now, just curious if anyone read into the tier system and let it affect their choice. If you do regret your choice, which house do you wish you’d preffed first?

I’m not gonna say the “tier” people on this site define by hotness but I chose my sorority for reasons I wanted and I suggest you do the same because this is 4 years (unless you drop bc you hate it) but it can be an amazing 4 years or annoying so choose for the right reasons

On pref I went to a solid mid tier sorority and a bottom, and I ranked the bottom first and ran home to them. Loved the other house so much don’t get me wrong but tiers shouldn’t influence your decision. I’m happy with my choice and yeah while I sometimes wonder what my life would be like in that other sorority, it doesn’t mean I wish I’d picked that one. If I had chosen that sorority I would be wondering what my life would be like in the one I’m in now. At the end of the day you can only choose one and should pick the one you have a gut feeling about.

All throughout recruitment I definitely looked for houses who had a classy, seamless, and effective approach on the process. It was clear that the top tiers were trained like pros, had beautiful houses, amazing girls, and great conversation skills. Even some of the lower and mid tier houses had these abilities, but only a few. I also looked for where I felt i fit in the most and was making the better connections. I felt the mid and lower tiers seemed to struggle with creating deep connections with their pnms, leaving them unable to connect that house with an urge to go back. My decision was mostly based on all of these aspects, but also along with the ability for me to get along with a certain group of girls, as well as where I could see myself growing the most.

I never was the person that only wanted to be in a top house, so during recruitment i was completely open minded to all the houses i went to and tried to talk with all of the girls and maintain the conversation in all of the houses. I was really impressed by one top house, all the girls i talked with were extremely nice and the conversations were overall better than the other houses. On pref i had the top tier and a middle tier, i love both of them but i chose the top tier based on my experience during recruitment and i’m so glad i did
