Dear UCF and members of OFSL,

Delta Upsilon, Sigma Chi, Alpha Delta pi, Kappa sigma.

These are the names of the organizations that have been suspended all within one semester. Coming from an involved member of the greek community and an active UCF student; This needs to stop. The greek community is being torn apart. You are destroying and ruining the experience that college students look forward to within joining greek life. I personally know students that have decided to not join organizations, or drop their already joined ones, due to the excessive and overbearing rules and harsh punishments. It is understood that when an organization acts outside of the guidelines, they must be punished, however, suspending these organizations for semesters and years at a time is cruel and un called for. Having four of the biggest and most involved greek organizations on campus suspended in ONE semester completely ruins the entire ecosystem. Since it seems that UCF and OFSL are searching through greek rank posts now (source: knight news article about pi phi) how about you consider the general opinion of your student body for once. Instead of spending time trying to break down and ruin the great organizations that this campus has to offer, how about you focus on ways to make the greek system on campus better, and more appealing to freshmen and students to join. I truly hope that whoever reads this takes us, the students, into consideration and for you guys to make this right.
