If you haven't initiated and think you want to join another sorority, you have to quit before initiation. Once you join one sorority, you can't join another. However, don't think that by quitting this sorority, you'll get into a different/better sorority. You have the best chance at recruitment as a freshman, and it goes down every year after. This is true even if you have friends in another sorority. Just figure that quitting this sorority will mean quitting sororities in general. Then, if it turns out differently, that's lucky.
My freshman year when I went through recruitment, there was a girl in my Rho Gamma group who had quit one of the top tier sororities here. She didn't want to go to their party and cried when she had to. Even though she had gotten into this top tier house her freshman year, she didn't end up getting a bid. I don't know if she got invited back to houses she didn't like or if people knew about her and didn't invite her at all, but she didn't get in.
So don't think, "Do I want to be in this sorority?" Think, "Do I want to be Greek?" and if the answer is yes, then try to make it work.
