just some advice for post grad
by: Alum
I am lucky to work at the company that I do, because they don’t typically hire UCF grads. Wanted to spread the knowledge and make sure you’re all on the right track.
Your Greek positions don’t mean much to employers on a resume. When you speak to experiences in an interview, that’s worthwhile, but it will not get you an interview to begin with. You need internships with known organizations and you need to squeeze as much from your time there as possible. If you intern somewhere? Be the aggressive intern who wants to shadow and learn from everything. Sit in meetings and take notes, etc.
Too many (Florida students in general) but UCF students rely on very weak experience. I’m rooting for you guys, build the resume now that gets you to the top. Obv have fun and enjoy college, I was in a top tier sorority not too long ago, but we need more competitive people out of UCF.
Light the fire.
