dropping as a pledge and re-rushing

by: Unhappy in my Sorority

Can I drop as a pledge and still get into another sorority in the fall? I'm extremely unhappy in mine... but I was wondering would a sorority not take me because I was associated with another one?

Unhappy, I bet your sorority is full of girls from Scottsdale.

You can absolutely re-rush if you drop before initiation. No house will know if you accepted a bid or not.

You can't re-rush until next fall (2016). Some houses have a "once cut, always cut" policy. And yes they will know that you accepted a bid and dropped. How can you be so unhappy in a house that has 300 girls (more or less)?

Are you sure about this rule?

This is true. Panhellenic won't tell the chapters you rushed before but the girls in the chapters will know. You may have friends, someone will recognize your face or name, etc... Some houses do have the "cut" policy, that is true. You can re-rush in the fall but set your expectations accordingly.

I understand all this. Any house is better than the one I'm in. They are all so cliquish and mean.
