rushing as a junior

by: Ana

So I'm rushing this fall as a Junior. I know it'll be harder because of my age but I was just a wondering if most soroties consider it a deal breaker?

no one will outright tell you this but: yes. Make it known that you have THREE years left (you could take a 5th year, double major, etc.) and up-play any leadership experiences you have. Try not to sound so "mature," if that makes sense. the actives want to see you fit in with your pledge class who will mostly be freshman/a few sophomores. Make yourself a vibrant, well spoken, relatable girl with so much to give a sorority and everyone will love you. There is no set rule but when girls are scoring you, make them forget about your age!

tell them you're actually a freshman or sophomore who's double majoring. no one will know; there are so many girls coming through recruitment. say that you're listed as a junior bc you had enough ap credits in hs to skip most of the freshman level classes and also took summer classes at another college to get ahead. that would also show you're smart and would boost the sorority's gpa.
