If a girl has an older sister in a sorority, does she automatically get selected by that sorority if she wants to be in it?

Nope. She would have a better chance of receiving a bid, but it's no guarantee. Some sororities will automatically honor the legacy, others will just give her preference but that doesn't imply a bid.
