state of greek life
by: Old SAEI was an SAE at Arizona a long time ago. Our chapter was one of the best on campus and although I am slightly out of touch I assume it is still a strong house. My son is going to be a freshman this fall and is excited about rush. I am hoping he will join SAE but obviously want him to go where he is comfortable. He told me about this site that he and his friends have been reading about so I checked it out and I must say it is really disappointing to see all of the disparaging remarks you all seem to make about each other and your respective fraternity/sorority. When I was there the whole Greek system partied together. We even had a party with Pike and FIJI. It was a the best party of the year and everyone got a long. I really hope you kids stop this kind of crap. Enjoy each other and have fun together. These four years fly by and it will be a lot better looking back on good memories as opposed to ones based in hatred of other houses on campus.

it was common back in the day for fraternities and sororities to have 3-, 4-, 5-, or 6-way parties. Sig Ep and ATO (both 120+ member houses) used to have huge ragers all the time, and each house used to pretty much treat the other like they were brothers. big annual parties like King of Clubs (SAE, Sig Ep, FIJI), Queen of Hearts (Pi Phi, KKG, DG), Bedrock (Kappa Sig, Sigma Chi, KA) and Western (FIJI, Dchi and Sigma Chi, Kappa Sig) were monumental events everyone looked forward to.
good things happen when groups pool their people, money and resources together. just look at the business world.
