junior

I'm going to be transferring as a junior and was wondering if there were any sororities that would offer a bid to a junior? Or is that too late?

Hi! So I rushed as a transfer junior last year and it was definitely difficult. However, I am in a house that I am really happy with. You should still rush because at this point you shouldn't be caring about the rankings of the sororities, just focus on meeting people because you only have 2 years left (if you're on schedule). I had a really difficult time because I was too focused on trying to get into a top house to realize that it literally doesn't even matter. JUST THE CHOOSE ONE YOU LIKE THE PEOPLE IN/FEEL COMFORTABLE IN. But also know that the chances of the top houses taking a junior are slim to none because they want maximum $$. The most gorgeous girl I've ever met rushed with me as a junior also last year and got dropped by the top houses immediately. Be prepared to be turned down from those and don't take it personally. They won't want you unless youre a legacy, in which case they have to take you. Hope this helps and I seriously wish someone gave me this advice a year ago!

I rushed as a transfer junior with my best friend who was going to be a senior and we both made it into a "top house"

I do have to admit you may not have the best experience. More than half my PC were freshman and it was hard to connect with them. It was like I had a foot in the door with the new PC and the junior PC but I didn't fully fit into any PC. But I am still so glad I rushed and decided to go with the house I did. I preferenced a bottom middle tier house.

Sure, you could rush as a junior but as someone already mentioned, it may be difficult to connect with a PC full of 17-19 year olds who are just starting college. Also, you will probably have far better social opportunities than freshmen in terms of nightlife and networking or hanging out with people in your major classes.
