sorority life
by: freshmenWhat's sorority life like at UofA specifically- hopefully lots of mixers and such but how close are you with the girls, about how many are there in each house, and how often are you all together and stuff?

Sorority life is huge. SO many girls go greek. It's hard to answer any of your other questions though, because it totally depends on YOU. Once you're in a house, you can choose to go there for all your meals (which I reccomend) or once a week. If you're there more, you'll bond more. Every house has a chapter dinner every week, but besides that getting close to sisters and how many mixers you go to are up to YOU. Houses range from around 180-200something. Also, AChiO will be back in the fall, and are housed. U of A Greek life has so much to offer. Ignore 98% of the posts on this site, be yourself during recruitment, ignore the tent talk, and find the house you love. Best Wishes!

My sorority has at least 1 sisterhood event and 1 date dash every month. Besides that we have chapter on mondays and meals everyday. When you are a new member you also have a lot more socials, mostly with sophomores so you can get to know them since they will be your bigs! We have a ton of events in the first month of school so you can get to know your sisters and scope out who you would want as your big sis!

We "aren't allowed" to have mixers with one specific frat unless its a dinner exchange. UA says its an unfair advantage or something. We have dinner exchanges during homecoming, spring fling, and randomly throughout the semester. Even though were not allowed to have parties, you know it happens anyways. There are many parties with a frat with one specific sorority but its usually on the DL, and always a pre game that starts at like 930 and the late night for the frat when everyone else can come starts at like 1130 so no one gets in trouble. You will be able to tell curtain sororities have their favorite frats because they have tons of pre games with them.
