Don't make the same mistake I did. I was fooled by the glitz and glamour of a house and chose them because I knew they were a top tier. I thought it would make me look better & have a better college experience. I chose the more popular house over the house I actually fit in with and have regretted it ever since. I was excited that the "popular" house kept calling me back and disregarded the house that I actually had chemistry with because it wasn't top tier.
I didnt fit in at all in the house I chose and hated it so much I dropped. I had already gotten initiated so now I cant rush again or be in any house at all. I'm posting this here because this happens to so many girls where they pick a more popular house because of its status rather than the house they actually fit with.
I know so many girls coming straight from high school think being in a popular house is all that matters but let me tell you I would much rather be happy in a less popular house, with real friends, then unhappy in a top house with no friends.
Really try and pick where you feel most comfortable / most at home / where you vibe best with the girls. And don't pay attention to tiers or pick a house based off of that like I did, because you will regret it.

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!! Read up on Greek life by visiting NPCWOMAN.ORG and visit the various national sorority websites that are represented at UA as well as the UA Greek life website. The more information you have on sorority life and on Greek life, the better decision you all make whether Greek/sorority life is for you or not.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Some of my friends and I had a different expeience though. I had a friend who chose a middle tier house over a top house and was so upset she dropped last semester. She chose it because the girls seemed "down to earth" and regretted it so much. Top frats don't want to have mixers with lower than top sororities and the middle and bottom tier houses are the left overs that frats ask for events like homecoming. Every sorority is cliquey so you might as well be in a desired cliquey house then a rebound cliquey house but that's just my thoughts. Everyone has different opinions.

On the other side of the coin, if you really do feel comfortable at a top house, don't overthink it - don't think you're being shallow just because you like it the best. Everyone joins Greek life for different reasons and none of them are right or wrong. Just be honest with yourself.
