what's it like here?
by: Possible TransferCan someone describe the social scene at Arizona? I'm currently a freshman at Alabama (originally from the west coast), and I'm thinking about transferring. I love Bama and my sorority but it's just SO far away.

U of a is considersd big on Greek life but I know Alabama is huge!! So I think we're probably smaller but yes it is easy to switch chapters they will affiliate you- what house are you in? There is definitely clear Greek life rankings between sororities and fraternities (for instance top houses will only go to homecoming/spring fling w other top houses) and frat parties are a big part of our party scene. It's great though!

our kappas here will be very accepting! And im honestly not saying this because I go here but we are much much more of a party school than asu haha, I'm in state and have so many friends who go there and it's honestly nothing because they no don't have fraternity or sorority houses. Football and basketball are a big deal, but honestly we all tailgate Saturday's during football season and people rarely make it to the games lol. Everyone always regrets buying a zonazoo pass for the games because it's very unlikely you'll make it if you tailgate. We're definitely not that tradition oriented, but yes basketball it bigger and I guess some people go but it's mostly outside of Greek life I think

How much of a party school would you say U of A is? Bama is a party school but definitely not on say ASU's level. I don't mind if it is, I'm just curious. Also, what are football and basketball experiences like? I've personally never been to a Crimson Tide basketball game but obviously football is a huge deal and we have game day dates and game day dresses and it's a huge deal. Very tradition-oriented. I know basketball is much bigger at U of A, I'm assuming lots of people go to the games? I'm a kappa at Alabama btw.
