i have a 2.6 should i even rush
by: scaredHi, Im going to U of A in the fall and I'm so so scared that I won't have any opportunities to even rush because ill be cut on the first day because of my 2.6 (as of right now) I go to an extremely competitive boarding school and have other academic explanations for my grades but am concerned it won't be enough. I excel in all areas for rush expect my gpa. Should i even bother?

One of the girls in my rush group got asked back to the max nine houses after the first round of rush most of them were top/ upper middle houses. For house tours, she only had her four least favorite houses left. She had a GPA and was a legacy for several of the houses that dropped her. She also had letters of rec for most houses as well. Anything under a 3.0 will seriously limit you ESPECIALLY if it's a high school GPA.

I rushed with a high school gpa of 2.8. I still got into a house, but unfortunately a bottom tier house. I knew going into rush that that would probably happen so I made it work. It sucked at first because I wanted a "good" house but I stayed in my house all 4 years and love it. Things work out the way they're supposed to. Whether you get dropped completely or end up with your last choice.

I rushed in 2k16 my gpa was a 2.5 and I got into a "upper middle" house (according to the rankings on here) but just be yourself and maybe explain why your gpa was like that bc houses already know your grades and everything just not why! Make yourself memorable for them to remember for voting and wherever you end up give it a try and I'm sure you'll love it!
