Alpha Phi - ΑΦ Sorority Ratings at UOTTAWA

Someone I know joined this sorority and it changed them as a person. They became incredibly crass and rude, not to mention extremely shallow. The whole thing is about “sisterhood” but what it really seems to mean is paying to feel popular like you’re in high school again. They kicked a girl out for being rude this year, while they all gossip and talk about each other behind their backs. That might be normal when you’re 14 but these girls are all in their 20s attempting to feel like they did at 16 when they were popular in high school. Don’t waste your time and money on this, instead find a place you feel comfortable and meet people (without having to pay them to be your friends) and create genuine connection based on shared interests, not the ability to pay for people to like you. Also they do poor charity work, they raise money for cancer research yes but it’s largely performative and about showing “good faith” rather than doing actual community work/involvement. I know i’m probably being overly harsh but it really is a high school type popularity contest except it costs 400+ dollars a year. Save the money, learn to be comfortable with yourself and your identity, university is about growth, not trying to relive the high school peak.

didn't know we can rank them online. but, i had such a bad rush experience with them because one of the girls were talking to me rudely. didn't feel welcomed.

The sorority turned out to be a very unwelcoming and toxic place. They lack respect towards people and do not care about their members' mental and physical health. Instead of promoting sisterhood, there are only cliques. Some sorority girls are bullies, making it difficult for others to feel included. They often behave like teenagers and can be rude to you even outside of the sorority's premises. If you are considering joining, please watch your back.

I went to one recruitment event with this organization and immediately felt excluded. I do not feel comfortable around this organization at all. I would never recommend for anyone to associate with this group. Please join an organization that actually cares about more than how much money you have. Overall, they are not nice people.

Lots to say, but they dont even deserve the effort it'll take to write it all. The amount of disrespect, bitterness, and narcissism displayed by the exec team is appalling and has honestly taken down an otherwise great group of women. It hurts to see girls join with expectations of sisterhood and fun, only to be met with what looks like a scene out of mean girls. I thought it was a temporary issue that would be solved when leadership changes but the rotting runs deep, and the current exec is training newer members in their friend group to be just as bad. I don't know if there's hope left, just a lot of daddy's money white girls who didn't have friends in high school for a reason. Oh and cant forget about the desperation for certain frat boys to like them. Some of these girls would sell a sister out to get in a frat boys pants any day. Stay safe y'all, rush literally anywhere else

seems to care more about the number of girls they get to join (so they get more money), then actually ensuring that there is a decent sisterhood between their members. Would like to see them put an effort into forming connections with members, instead of the singular clique of exec and select few they like.

Honestly just don’t rush. Don’t have any respect for their own members that aren’t a part of their click. Not very friendly. Never say hi to me or anyone in my friend group when not at an alpha phi event. I joined to meet more people and feel a part of a family but in reality I just always feel left out. There are only a few members that actually make you feel welcome and none of them are on exec

Sisterhood has dropped to the floor and fees have skyrocketed. A little while ago they kicked out an epileptic girl because she had a seizure at a party and a lot of us left because wtf... They also have a lot of tiring politics and we weren't allowed to talk about how uncomfortable it is associating with a frat that was accused of assaulting some of our own. Like... The girls accusing them were literally still in the sorority and not allowed to talk about what happened to them. Overall just a really toxic environment more focused on optics than sisterhood.

From rigging philanthropy events to scamming charities, it’s really upsetting how little accountability there is. Rectify the situation of sisters ripping off charities and have actual accountability when it’s exec and your philanthropy chairs doing this. Do better and be better.

Went from top tier sorority in the city to absolute bottom feeders. Have not met a single Greek that cares about them anymore (other than Sig chi, which by the way used to abuse some of your older sisters but your leadership doesn’t tell you). So much wasted potential with this sorority. Needs new leadership ASAP.
