rushing from out of state

I'm going to UT in the fall and I am living in Hardin. I am not a legacy, but I'd say I am fairly well connected and come from a wealthy background (sorry I hate having to say that). I am very interested in rush, but I'm horrified I wont get a bid since I'm not from Texas. I do know of a couple girls from my area that are in some of the top houses (Pi Phi, Theta, & AXO) ...should I contact them? Sorry this message is so long, I just wanna give myself the best chances. It'd be greatly appreciated.

Stop. Girls from out of state need to have an open mind. The girls that will get into the top houses already know it and they don't come on greek rank to ask questions like this. Get your letters of support ready and get the hell off here.

It's called Greek RANK. It's for Greeks ranking Greeks. It's not Answer Stupid PNM Questions. Go ask the old ladies on Greek Chat. PNM questions are like oxygen to them.

This is not a useful tool. It is a silly gossipy place for people to say good things about themselves or bad things about others do that they feel good about themselves. Go into rush with an open mind. There will be houses that you like and some that you don't. And some of those you don't line will be in the top 6.

Message them. Get to know them, ask if you can hang out when you come down and visit Austin over the summer. This is advice from a previous recruitment chair. If you want to maximize your options, talk to all three of those girls.

If she really had close connections, that would have already happened because she'd be in regular contact with them as friends. Obviously that isn't happening here, and you know it's against the rules to have pnm's down for visits now (unless you're a chi-o)
