ranking system/tiers really matter?

Why do sorority and even fraternity rankings really matter? Why does it matter if one is low tier or top tier? It seems pretty childish and high school like to worry. The entire point of the greek system is for people to find their fit

go home "amen". This person raises a valid point. Greek Life is a continuation of high School for some-- relying on parent's money to get them into the so-called "right" sorority or frat. Would you even want to be with people like that ?
