The above article is the current article regarding the suspension of Kappa Sigma.

The national office of the Kappa Sigma fraternity has issued a statement after its University of Texas at Tyler chapter was suspended.\n\n\n\n\nThe chapter was suspended because of an investigation by the university and the national Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

UT Tyler fraternity suspended during investigation
“Kappa Sigma Fraternity has been made aware of an alleged inappropriate and disturbing post made in a private group on Facebook by a member of its chapter at the University of Texas at Tyler," said Mitchell B. Wilson, executive director for Kappa Sigma Fraternity. "The alleged post was reported by members of the group and has subsequently been removed."
Wilson says Kappa Sigma immediately suspended the operations of its UT Tyler chapter in order to conduct an investigation. He says a member allegedly responsible for the alleged post has been suspended and that further disciplinary action may be imposed pending the outcome of the investigation.

"The alleged post is inexcusable and conflicts with the values of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. The individual who made the post is in no way representative of the culture of Kappa Sigma nor the character of the general fraternity's 20,000 undergraduate and more than 220,000 living alumni members.”

Wilson adds that his organization has instructed its chapter to cooperate with the university and police.

UT Tyler spokesperson Beverley Golden tells KLTV 7 that the details of the suspension cannot be released because the investigation is ongoing.
