personal story about rush - for incoming freshmen

by: Commentary

As someone in a very average fraternity, I have a lot of friends in a fraternity that this website often compares my fraternity to, as well as a lot of friends that are in a fraternity that is consistently ranked “a tier below” my fraternity. I just want to say that these rankings are so artificial and so is all this commentary because during rush, which (other than mixing) is the only defining factor you can rank a house on, I looked at rushes with my friends in those fraternities and we were rushing few if any of the same kids as each other Also worth nothing that more or less all three of these fraternities have somewhat similar social schedules in terms of amounts of events and each of us mix with one or two sororities that the others don’t every so often.

The strength of social schedules is more or less the same but despite this the fraternities all rush different kids. Therefore, I just want to use this experience to make a point that whatever fraternities your organization or another organization is compared to, you shouldn’t just use social schedule to assume that the houses have similar identities or that they attract similar types of kids. In reality, so many of the commentary is inaccurate because it doesn’t take these things into account. Just a little sorry to give reason as to why you should not believe everything you read on this website. Every fraternity is different and you should learn that instead of comparing them all to each other because of social rank

This is very true I hate when people say that their fraternity is similar to another fraternity or when people say that their fraternity needs to be more like another one.
