American University - AU 3.3 AU greek life is a very chill environment. Sometimes there can be some toxicity between orgs but nothing that is too horrible. The orgs all support eachother and want to make AU a better campus. Joining greek life at au was a great decision for me and my friends, I would not look back.

American University - AU 2.5 Select fraternities haze hard, most are very relaxed. Being in a major city leads to a small Greek population. Without school-affiliated Greek housing, it allows Frats like SigEp and SAE which are not real frats due to a lack of a pledgeship and banning drinking, to still remain slightly as fraternities. As of writing, SigEp is probably top tier, but that’s because they don’t haze and only accept attractive or athletic guys. SAM and SAE are probably the two top tier traditionally.

American University - AU 2.8 Transferred at au and spent one semester here not in greek life, and i will definitely say that my life got a million times better since. Au is full of weird people and wonks, and i really found that one of the only ways of finding normal people who like to go out is join greek life. Its not obviously as big as other schools, but for what its is, in a top tier sorority or fraternity, life is pretty fun in au’s greek life
