University of West Florida - UWF Greek Life Reviews

Greek Life at UWF is in a weird spot right now. None of the organizations have on-campus housing and as far as I know SAE is the only org with an official house. Our president hates FSL and the IFC is extremely strict because of Kappa Sig and other recent suspensions, social probation, etc. There is also a lot of beef within FSL right now and a few organizations are really struggling with recruitment and will most likely cease to exist after next spring. However, there is also some hope for FSL with some organizations making big moves with their new member classes this fall. Involvement on campus is hit or miss depending on the org and the social scene could be better. With the future expansion of UWF between the possibility of going D1 and getting a new stadium and the growth of the student body I could see us shaking off a lot of our "commuter school" reputation and seeing a big growth in Greek life with more out of state and non-local students. I would love to see us possibly get a Greek row in the next 5-10 years if certain organizations continue to excel and IFC relations improve.

tbh there are some frats that i have heard haze really bad but some that are super nice to their new mems and dont haze and same goes for the sororities. some do and some dont. there are 7 frats and only 4 sororities so there are definitely more dudes in greek life here. there is no on campus housing for greek life

Greek life on the rise, should be a good class

I do like the greek life here on campus, I just wish we got more recognition

UWF’s Greek life is definitely growing and improving! We’re a fairly newer school (just celebrated 50 years) and we’re located in a poor, underfunded region of the state. But I can say we work well with what we have. The sorority housing for Pan council on campus is not ideal. Maybe it’ll get better in the future. Pan and IFC are pretty active and have a lot of events. Their rush is sometimes considered a joke but Idk and idc. NPHC (Black Greek Letter Orgs) are awesome and growing as well! They put on great events and service projects. The process to join is much more different and more meaningful than IFC, Pan and this multicultural Greek orgs’ process. They bring life and culture to the campus. As a proud alumnus, I can’t wait to see the progress of it all when I return for future homecomings!

Some are real some fraternities and sororities on campus are a joke

Greek Life at UWF has expanded recently by adding 5 new orgs. It's a great time to join since individuals can be very influential. Overall the community is tightly knit and gets along surprisingly well.
