I wish we would stop being obsessed with the tiers, rankings and stereotypes. I know this website is called greekrank so you should "rank" but I still am not happy with people putting other people down bc they're simply in a frat or sorority that isn't "top tier". literally tiers mean nothing. there are hot and social girls in adpi. there are not so cute girls in KD, theta, aphi, tridelta. same applies to the frats also! If maryland wants to ever grow their Greek community and make it more prominent, then we need to realize why Greek life was made in the first place. It's a place for friendships and special bonds, not this unhealthy obsession with climbing up tiers. The moment you graduate, nobody will care whether you were in FIJI bc FIJI here is different from FIJI at another school. What you get out of Greek life is the great relationships you form. That's what everybody needs to remember.

Couldn't agree more. Very well stated. Fraternities are not well respected on campus because they have done nothing to earn respect. IFC really needs to do an internal audit of the negative conduct and attitudes posted on this sight. Frats need to raise their presence on campus and their GPA's. IFC, why not strive to be admired for once? What could be done to positively change your image on campus? Where is the challenge in being drunken egotistical underachieving adolescents? Do you really think the UMD administration is blind to your actions? Why UMD is so quick to suspend or kick frats off campus. Put down the booze, pick up the books and THINK.
