And by the way, you probably don't go to UCLA either, because you said @@Bruinbear called the grammar police. Don't you mean the spelling police?

anyone else find it ironic that two GDIs are posting negative comments about the greek system on GREEKrank.com? @Bruinbear even took the time to research admission statistics, and @@Bruinbear called the grammar police.

Going Greek is a personal decision, but one that I have never regretted.

Joining a sorority has shaped my college experience. I?ve met my best friends and my boyfriend, had countless fun experiences and memories, and gotten involved in campus activities I otherwise would not have. (Go figure, both the USAC President and the SAA President are Greek!)

Most importantly, living in was an amazing experience; you have a built-in support system. Someone is always down to go out, stay up late studying, or stay in and watch movies with you. I have friends in other houses, too, and the Greek system makes this huge campus feel smaller. I never walk to class without seeing at least five friendly faces.

In terms of academics, houses require their members to maintain a minimum GPA; failure to do so results in academic probation, when members aren?t allowed to attend social events and must clock mandatory study hours. SOE also requires houses to have a certain proportion of their members involved in extracurricular activities, and the Greek system is excellent for internships and job networking. Let us also mention that each house has its own philanthropy and directly gives back to the community, and Greek housing is cheaper than both the dorms and off-campus apartments.

Do I need to say more? Go Greek!

Sounds like propaganda to me and like someone is monitoring this board from Panhellenic. I've been Greek also and it's not as pretty as you're making it sound. Funny, how rush is coming up, and all this damage control is needed. All they have to do is read the comments that other girls wrote to determine for themselves if that's what they want. Sales pitches are fruitless. UCLA students are smarter than that.

Flip through the pages on this board. Look at what your potential new "sisters" are like. Do you really want to join a system full of such narcissistic and self-absorbed girls? If that's your cup of tea, then fine. But, if not, then you should be really careful because they're going to be extra sweet during rush.

If everyone knows this site is b.s., why are you on it? Why the damage control? As you said, hundreds (more like a little over 400) will rush anyways. So, why do so many of the girls take it so seriously and bash each other? Perhaps they're a little sick and obsessed in the head. Perhaps new students need to know that it is a little screwed up. Maybe I have a conscience. No one needs to make up idiotic rumors. The girls' comments on this site speak for themselves. Only a select few girls have a great time. Don't kid yourself. The rest of the girls become sheep.
