how important are recs?
by: PNMI'm rushing this fall but I don't have any letters of recommendation. Should I try to get them even if I don't know the alumnae personally, or will I be ok without them?

Tons of girls don't have any and get bids to top houses. However, for most sororities it is a free pass to the second round (the most superficial cuts are always at the beginning) and will get you on their radar and above the fray of anonymity.
You can do it without them. It's a huge help if you do have them, though.
