I will try again...Roughly how many girls go through rush each year at Tech? Do sophomores have a reasonable chance of being selected?

i'm not sure how many go through rush but YES, sophmores have an excellent chance of finding a home as long as their grades meet the grade requirement. The higher their grades, the more sororities will want them along with extra curricular activities. Also, tell your daughter to have an open mind during recruitment. If she has her heart set on only one or two sororities, she may be disappointed. Tech recruitment is competitive but not so much that sophmores are at a huge disadvantage.

I agree with keeping an open mind. All the sororities at Tech are really strong (unlike some other texas schools) so your daughter is lucky. All the tech sororities are top sororities nationally and have great alumnae support.

Thanks for the last two comments. My daughter has no preconceived ideas about any of the sororities. She has good grades (above 3.5) and some good extracurriculars. She's a great kid that isn't a big partier, so she's hoping to find a group that she will fit into. She's a little worried that she may not get selected at all, as several people have told her that sophomores have a much harder time getting selected.

with a gpa above 3.5 she should do great. All the groups at Tech have very different personalities so she's sure to find one she clicks with. Keep us posted!
