First off, don't use this site for information. Just don't. It's filled with salty people who like to bash everyone, which is unfortunate because 99.9% of the Greek community doesn't care about this site, and then PNMs like you think it's a reputable place to ask questions.

Third, I would say about 100-125 women go through recruitment every year, with around 15-25 joining each sorority depending on the year, quota numbers, how many girls accept bids, or stick through the whole process. Girls who make it to the end will join a sorority almost 100% of the time, or go through an individual sororities continuous open recruitment after.

If you go through recruitment, ask questions you're asking now, the recruitment councillors and Panhellenic members are great and will give you all the information and guidance you need. When in doubt as to whether or not you want to go through recruitment, just do it. What do you have to lose? You might find an organization you love and cherish, and the Greek community here is filled with lovely and amazing women.
