The frats and sororities here are just kinda meh

apsu just sucks but greek life is extremely mid here. it helps to get involved but there are few organizations actually relevant. and where are the sorority and frat houses wtf

I had a great four years being in a sorority at Austin Peay. I truly recommend it to anyone who wants to get the full college experience, especially at this school. While only about 6% of the campus is a member of Greek Life, the majority of all student leaders are associated with a fraternity or sorority. Many of the events on campus, including Homecoming, are definitely tailored to Greek Life so you will not have many events to attend if you are not Greek. The party scene is not as wild as some larger schools, but I have always felt safe at all of the parties I have attended while still having a good time. Many of the organizations do not have housing, but members of organizations tend to get houses or apartments together which is still fun! Overall, it is a very supportive group of members who are all friends with one another. I cannot recommend it enough!

Greek life at Austin Peay is so great!! There are no hazing policies in place to make sure that there is nobody getting hurt or bullied when entering a sorority or fraternity. They encourage campus engagement and require a certain GPA to stay in. This makes another incentive to make good grades. The sisterhood salon campus are all very unique and recruitment is values based! It does not matter what you look like or where you come from if you come to recruitment with an open mind you will find your home!!

The formal rush period for the fraternities is bigger in the fall than in the spring it's not as selective as it is only about 2 weeks long. But they do the best that they can to get guys that fit. The Sorority rush in the Fall is also more intensive they cram it all into a three day period which can drain both the rushee and the recruitment staff. They try to do a Pi CHi thing where the ladies disassociate from their organizations from the end of the spring till rush is over.

Greeks are involved, but could always do more. Show cohesiveness not competition. Network and build relationships with all.
