Just check out all 6 houses including the colonies. Give them all a fair chance, and meet as many brothers as you can. Don't base your decision on social standing, bar pull, or other fleeting factors. Brotherhood is forever; in the end what won't matter is which house has the best parties or largest philanthropy. The only thing that truly matters is that you find people you can see yourself being life long friends with.

Four good choices. Solid mid houses, good brotherhood and not obsessed with superficial stuff.
Would recommend them over colonies, you might be overselling yourself on how big a deal it would be. They are not new fraternities. However, still might be the choice for you depending on your personality.

I would consider them all lower middle. They all have decent socials & great brotherhoods. They are involved in most philanthropies on campus. I would suggest these over colonies.
Check out all the houses on campus & find where you fit in. You want your college experience to be around people that you like & feel comfortable wearing letters.

The 4 houses you named are relatively similar in size and prominence at UofI. Similar social, all active in various philanthropies, all have a lot of good solid guys. I think they have all had decent pledge classes lately. If you want to be in the biggest house on campus, none of them are for you. But if brotherhood is important to you these are 4 of the best on campus.
They do have different personalities, so visit all 4 and spend time at each and figure out which is the best fit for you. You can't go wrong between these four.

They are all good, all different but hard to describe in just a paragraph or two. You honestly have to meet all four. I know at least one of them (probably all) will not even consider giving you a bid unless you invest the time getting to know a lot of the guys. No matter who you are.

I've been to events with these four too and I would recommend PSK and KDR. It depends on what type of guys you prefer talking to.

I'm in one of these four house and I'm just genuinely curious on what distinguishes these four houses from each other. Like what type of guy do you prefer talking that you see in the two houses you mentioned?

You might want to leave more than 2 minutes between posts, and maybe wait till you are sober, if you're gonna badmouth people.
Crows are nice guys and so are KDR's. Don't really know the other two houses.

I've been to quite a few pregames with KDR and been to several of their parties and I always have a great time at their house and all the guys I've met there have been very friendly :) They're one of my favorite houses here. I haven't had any events with the three other houses so I can't give an accurate opinion on them.

AXP isn't part of IFC currently, but they still manage to stay somewhat relevant despite being a lower tiered house.
