is it weird to rush as a senior or junior girl?

It is NOT weird to rush no matter WHAT grade you are in. Joining a sorority, and even meeting girls in ur PNM group, is a very nice and fun way to make more friends imo.
HOWEVER I am going to be honest and say it is typically untraditional to rush as a junior or senior, but this does not mean it's bad. The girls in your PC will be a bit younger than you but normally girls that get in as upperclassmen end up gravitating towards the upperclassmen in their house and meshing and hanging out with them.
Also note: Some houses are going to prefer that you live in for a year. So as long as you join as a junior and have no problem living in senior year, that's not an issue. But, I know some houses don't require upperclassmen who have just joined to live in, so it depends on each house :) If ur a senior that wouldn't apply :)

hi! i didn’t post the og post but i rushed as a sophomore, and there were a couple more sophomores and a couple juniors in my group:) my sorority didn’t make me live in but it was an option for me to if i wanted to, and it’s def not weird or as uncommon as u may think, a lot of people do the same thing, i thought i’d be the only person who wasn’t a freshman lol.

There's a good number of girls who transfer from other unis or from CC and they rush as juniors, so dont worry :)

im a potential new member and I wanted to ask which houses have the highest gpa cuts and what are they? and also which houses require you to move in your second year?

I truly don't think sororities here cut girls based off of GPA. I speak off my own experience from the rushing end and from countless girls in other houses I know that I've never heard of such a thing. Maybe if you have a GPA less than 3.0 or 2.8 it would be a concern, but really I wouldn't worry about this. During rush in previous years houses gave girls a sheet with their house GPA requirement. If you are a sister in the house and dip below this you'll get academic probation and won't be able to go to social events, but normally this in house minimum is very, very low, like low 2.0s, so no worries.

Basically every house will prefer if you live in sophomore year. But most people LOVE living in, and so did I. It's also great because you can avoid the huge apartment signing rush that happens right at the school year since you know you'll be living in a sorority house. Having chef meals and being surrounded by your friends is awesome :)

another question but do letters of rec hold any weight?

I don't think they do but I'm not entirely sure. If you know a girl in a house, especially if she's your close friend or family member, then she can put a good word in for you from the insider end.

But in terms of letters of rec from people who are not active sorority members I'm not sure. I would imagine not as much weight as knowing someone who's currently a member.

What are the accommodations for people with severe IBS during rounds? Are people okay with someone having to leave around anywhere from 2-6 times?

Do we wear long or short dresses for preg and sisterhood round?

I think it's more conventional to wear short dresses for both, but if you want to feel free to wear long. It's more likely that girls in the house/girls rushing you will be wearing long dresses for pref so as long as you don't mind matching with them
