Informal rush next sem
by: PnmWhich sororities are having informal rush next sem? I feel like this year’s formal rush will be highly inaccurate and inefficient bc neither the houses nor the pmms are getting a full picture at all.

What “picture” are you looking for? I’m sure if you truly are engaged in this process by asking questions to the active members, maximizing your options during selection you will find a chapter that best aligns with your values and great match.
Don’t forget that you can make friends and find dudes regardless of your chapter. ;)

I feel like dropping at this point. I had 5 call backs. During 3, I felt they were not interested and conversation lagged. It is mentally draining and I have been upset this whole weekend. Trying to be positive but it seems like a popularity contest all over again like high school.

I’m sorry you’ve had a draining weekend. Don’t get down on yourself!! Sounds like you should probably talk to your Gamma Chis. That’s they’re here for.
I was in your same shoes during recruitment, however you have to remember that those chapters that did invite you back saw something that connects with the sisters or interests of the chapter. Sounds like you did have two good conversations!
I tend to over-analyze, but was reminded by my Gamma Chi, that each party is a new opportunity. Don’t let a not-so-hot conversation get you down. Remember this is your recruitment, be open to the process and your personality and interests will shine through! No one needs to know how many, which chapters, or why you made the selections you did. Trust yourself and have fun. You got this!

It is like that High School Popularity thing every year although this year it was little more bizarre. Top houses are not going to do informal, so don’t make decisions based on that. Hope it works out for you and you find a fit here. Greek life is great!

6 or 7 of 19is One Third of all Illinois Sororities, this is not “Only” and or insignificant. I feel like it will be more too this year....
