Does anyone know what the top 5 frats from the 80s were here?

Taus are top Haus and will always be top. The Taus will rise again

All i know is that back in the day Beta was the top house hands down. Sigs and ATO were close behind. Them 3 combined with theta dg and tridelt were the royal houses who went on the “royal bar crawl”

What happened to Beta? I heard acacia was on top in eighties or was that 90s?

The top 5 (no specific order) were:
1. DChi (not a misprint) - Larry Gies was a member. All the stereotypically top house characteristics.
2. Pike (the good looking guys that all the girls loved)
3. ATO (jock house, campus leaders)
4. Sigs (partly jock house, partly old money types)
5. Beta (partly jock house, partly laid back rich guys)

- I would say Acacia was #6 with probably the best physical house.
- I would give Delts an honorable mention because they were prestigious, but didnt have nearly as many members and lived in a crappy house in Urbana, while renting their current house to FIJI for some reason.

Acacia was booted in the late 1980’s for an incident on walkout at UW Madison.

Agree with this historical (circa 1980's) assessment.
Betas, Sigs & Taus were royalty.
Delta Chi was a top house.
Acacia was a top house.
Alpha Delts were a top Orange (<100 member) house along with Sigma Nu, Lambda Chi & Theta Xi.

Alpha delts were a really popular house back in the day and they’re coming back to campus this fall and moving into the old AKL house.

SAE bacically took a bunch of the ex-Beta kids the first time Beta was kicked off campus. That was really the jump start, they sort of took Betas place.

Delts were always good, just smaller in size. Dont know how they transitioned to being huge and taking back their house. Maybe someone else can help on this one.....
